First public speaking session

Today I ran my part of the Global 5K event. It was kinda exhausting, but I don't know why. I've ran in the mountains countless times and reached quite nice running speed and when I get to simple plain ground with 100% concrete roads I get tired really fast. Actually the early time of the day could have caused this. Whenever I go for a run it's already dark out there and I have a day of work behind me. My body and my mind is also warmed in. I think this could be important to have a focused and well delivered training. The point is, I completed the challenge. Now I'm curious about the statistics. The people at Runkeeper say that they will provide us some kind of stats from the data they received from all over the world. Though I was a little bit disappointed, because after I accomplished the challenge I didn't receive anything. Usually they send me emails about any little achievement but now I've got nothing. I feel a little bit forgotten and I even thought to mention this feeling with them. However I've got more important things to do.

For example to go to my first public speaking workshop. Peter held the study group and it was REALLY GOOD! Unfortunately I can't say the same for my on stage performance :D But that's ok. That's why I went there :) I realized how hard it is to speak in front of a group in a non native language. I have to have my thoughts completely clear to be able to form the sentences. I couldn't clear them in my mind. I guess this was caused mostly from stress and the lack of proper attention to a single topic. From now on I know, that I have to put myself more into these kinds of experiences so with time I can get used to it. One step at a time I'll walk up the stairs and reach the summit. Today I realized how many steps I have and I'm happy that this became visible to me. One thing I really hate is when I'm blind (so to speak). When I can't see the things in front of me or the things IN me. These kind of  experiences are so enlightening and are filling me up with a lot of joy and energy. Once somebody said, "You can't defeat an enemy you can't see.". That's so true in this situation too. Fortunately for the next 8 weeks or so (because of the holidays there will be a break) I'll have the opportunity to work on my skills and be better from week to week. And after two months of practice I'll be able to speak in public in English freely, confidently with great enthusiasm and express myself the way I want.
Now I'm going to create a mind map from the notes I took at the class and use the fresh experience to organize my thoughts to the right place. :)

Go Tiggy Go! :)
